Word for Today

Post placeholder image

“Focus” is a word for this season!  What happens when you focus on Jesus?  To focus is to make an adjustment in order to get a clearer image—to see more clearly, to concentrate.  Here are two keys to correcting your focus.
See the blood of Jesus – It is powerful, you know.  You’ve sung it many times:  “There is power, power, wonder-working power, in the blood of the Lamb.”  What does this mean?  It means your history has been rewritten.  That’s right!  Your sin is gone, forgiven and forgotten.  That’s the past, but what about now?  Does Jesus’ blood have any power today?  You and I are plagued with memories of past failure and a sense of being less—worthlessness and hopelessness.  These are the fiery darts the devil uses against us.  As long as he can remind us of our past he is empowered to keep us weak and needy.  Memories that deny the atoning work of Jesus Christ are ungodly and bring constant condemnation.  What must we do?  Repent!  That’s the answer.  True repentance is to “change the way you think.”  We need repentance that will affect the mind and redirect the heart—to re-focus so as to see the Lord as the One who washed away our past and received us as though we have never sinned.  We have to actually believe that what Jesus did is enough.  You must be willing to recognize that being born-again has restored you to a place of absolute purity.
See yourself in Christ Jesus – If you have received Jesus as your Savior, this is how our Father in Heaven sees you.  Ephesians 2: 4-6 “But God who is rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved) and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
Focus on Jesus!

See you next week, Gloria
